One thing that always stands out in a Ridley Scott film is his meticulous attention to detail. I've often marveled at the large and small minutiae of his films, from BLADE RUNNER to GLADIATOR to BLACKHAWK DOWN to KINGDOM OF HEAVEN and beyond. It's got to be a technical nightmare getting all those moving pieces together, particularly in the costume department. Today, we have an exclusive featurette that addresses just that, with a look into Scott's latest bigscreen opus, EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS, starring Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, and Sigourney Weaver. Scott and costume designer Janty Yates delve into the making of the armor and costumes for the film, which is yet another example of the level of detail you'll find in the director's body of work.
Suit up:
I'm most excited for a Ridley Scott film when he goes epic and this is about as epic as you can get. Tackling the story of Moses and Ramses is a massive tale, filled with the type of visual spectacles that is befitting of his style. The trailer alone has sold me, but the cast doesn't hurt, either. KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (the director's cut) is one of my all-time favorite flicks (and largely underrated at that), so having Scott back in the epic saddle again gets me all kinds of excited.
EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS hits theaters on December 12, 2014.
