A whole lot happened in the first season of the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. And today, season 2 arrives for a brand new adventure that brings the Hargreeves family back in a big way. The series – based on the comics by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá – created by Steve Blackman is a wild mix of superheroes, music, mayhem, and a ton of dark humor. However, this season brings something new taking place in Dallas, 1963, as the city prepares for the arrival of JFK. It also gives the series regulars, Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min a few exciting new challenges.
Recently, we sat down via Zoom with both Ellen Page and series creator, Steve Blackman. During our chat, Mr. Blackman discussed setting the series in 1963, and how closely they could follow the source material. As for the incredibly talented Ms. Page, she opened up about connecting with her new fictional family in the series. As well, the two talked about creating music as a character, and building off of the events that took place in the first season. Considering Ellen has been involved in a few impressive features, I had to bring up the subject of the tenth anniversary of Christopher Nolan's classic INCEPTION. If you're a fan of this fanciful series, you're in for a treat when The Umbrella Academy returns to Nextflix. It's well worth the watch!
