After the release of STRANGER THINGS Season 3 on Netflix and its emotional ending, fans of the series were left having many questions about the future of the nostalgia-driven sci-fi series. During the show's season three finale, fans seemingly witnessed the death of Dacre Montgomery's Billy Hargrove, as well as the untimely end of David Harbour's Chief Jim Hopper in an underground Russian facility. While many are convinced that Hopper was simply transported to another part of the globe, many are still questioning Billy's sacrificial play to save the Hawkins gang from certain doom. Is there a way for Billy to continue his story in season four? Is Montgomery still making room in his schedule for a mysterious return? To find out we went right to the source.

Recently while speaking with Montgomery for his new film, THE BROKEN HEARTS GALLERY, our own JimmyO popped the question by asking the Australian actor whether we'll see him in the upcoming season of Stranger Things or if Billy's redemptive death was the end of the character's story.

"You never know, I think its something that I should leave up to the creators and sort of see where it goes because that's the amazing thing about that IP is that it's forever unfolding, it's not ensconced in a book," Montgomery said. "You know, the ending is not always definitive, especially in television so we'll see where that goes."

Way to play it cool, Dacre, you little tease.

While I'm positive that a portion of Stranger Things fans wouldn't mind seeing Billy return to the series – possibly for more of his shirtless glory –  I'm of the mind that Billy should remain dead. I say this only because there's a part of me that feels as if bringing him back would cheapen his sacrifice at the end of season three. Billy was a monster in human form for most of the show, yet he'd managed to commit a selfless act during the finale that made me appreciate his arc all the more. Would continuing his story lessen the effect? Obviously, I can't say for sure, but I feel as if Billy has had a good run as-is.

What do you think of Billy possibly being resurrected for STRANGER THINGS Season 4? Let us know in the comments section below.

Also, be sure to check back with us on Monday, when our exclusive interview with Dacre Montgomery and Geraldine Viswanathan for THE BROKEN HEARTS GALLERY goes live.
