This week marks the 25th anniversary of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, and what better way to celebrate (besides some fava beans and a nice chianti, of course) than with a tribute video! Director Jonathan Demme's adaptation of the best-selling Thomas Harris novel was released on February 14, 1991, and grossed almost $14 million in its opening weekend before going on to earn $130 million in the U.S. and $272 million worldwide, on a budget of just $19 million.
In addition to being a big hit at the box office, it is also only the third film to win the Big Five (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay) Academy Awards, and, despite appearing on-screen for less than 17 minutes, Anthony Hopkins definitely deserved the Oscar for his iconic turn as the sophisticated cannibal. What's your favorite moment from THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS?
