Visual effects artist Ken Locsmandi's feature directorial debut BEYOND WHITE SPACE is a film I have been very interested in ever since I first heard about it, largely because it happens to star one of my favorite character actors, Holt McCallany – who you may know from Mindhunters or CREEPSHOW 2. Vertical Entertainment will be giving the film a theatrical and VOD release in North America this Friday, December 14th, and in anticipation of this we are proud to share an EXCLUSIVE clip that offers a glimpse of the action that takes place BEYOND WHITE SPACE.
Written by Ryan Colucci and Clay McLeod Chapman, the film is set in the year 2150 and tells the following story:
During its final harvest of the season, a deep-space fishing vessel encounters a rare creature, mammoth in size and highly territorial. Matters get worse when a vicious band of scavengers intercept the vessel, leaving them with nothing. With no cargo and few supplies, the crew makes the daring decision to venture into uncharted territory and attempt to capture the creature for a large black-market take.
So it's kind of like JAWS or Moby Dick, but in space.
McCallany is joined in the cast by Dave Sheridan, Zulay Henao, Kodi Kitchen, and Tiffany Brouwer.
Watch the action-packed clip below, which proves that working on a deep-space fishing vessel is definitely not the job for me, and get ready to check out BEYOND WHITE SPACE in a theatre or at your own home tomorrow.
