What's better than taking out nazi's? How about zombie nazi's? That's what you get with DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS. DEAD, the follow-up to Tommy Wirkola's (HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS) original flick, 2009's DEAD SNOW, which found a group of medical students on a ski vacation confronted with the menacing creatures. Now, the sole survivor of that debacle (Vegar Hoel) must continue the battle against the evil Colonel Herzog and his nazi zombie troops, only this time he's "armed" with a zombie appendage that gives him super strength and the power to control his own zombie army. Sound batshit crazy? Well, you're right, it absolutely is, and today we have an exclusive taste of the kind of over-the-top carnage that the sequel has to offer.
Take a look:
I saw the sequel this past weekend and had an absolute blast. It's one of the few horror flicks in the zom-com genre that nails the campiness, while supplying all the great beats we look for in these types of films; Gore aplenty, cheesiness, coolness, over-the-top action, and unexpected turns that will have you laughing and cheering (Check out Chris Bumbray's review here). This is a crowd movie, all the way, and begs to be watched as such. If you have the opportunity, round up some friends and check this one out. It won't redefine the genre, but I dare you not to have a good time.
DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS. DEAD hits theaters and digital HD on October 10, 2014. Check out the film's Facebook page here!
