Exclusive character spot for Colin Farrell in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen!

While Guy Ritchie in recent years has become more well known for films with a broader mass appeal like SHERLOCK HOLMES and this year's ALADDIN, the director got his start in hard hitting crime fare. Films like SNATCH and LOCK, STOCK, AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS still hold up to this day. They are movies I cherish and it looks like the director's upcoming THE GENTLEMEN, is a return to Ritchie's roots. The film follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey), "who has created a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he is looking to cash out his business, it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him."

Although McConaughey may be the headliner for THE GENTLEMEN, the film touts an all-star cast including Charlie Hunnam and Hugh Grant. Additionally, actor Colin Farrell will be playing a character called Coach who appears to be a boxing instructor caught up in the London criminal underworld. Thanks to our friends over to Fons PR, JoBlo has an exclusive look at Farrell's character that you can check out below:

I have to say I'm already loving this character. Farrell is one of the most underrated actors of this generation and he doesn't get nearly enough credit for how well he can do comedy. THE GENTLEMEN looks to be a film where he can really flex his comedic muscles.

In addition to the character promotion, the studio is also running a fan poster contest for the film with a cash prize of $3000! You can find more details here and take a gander at some early entries:

Damn. Those are some dynamite posters. If I could draw anything better than stick figures I'd be all over this contest.

THE GENTLEMEN directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell, Henry Golding, Charlie Hunnam, Hugh Grant, Eddie Marsan, Michelle Dockery,  and Jeremy Strong shoots its way into theaters January 24, 2020.
