We've kept close track of writer/director Josh Ridgway's upcoming biker werewolf film HIGH MOON, which was formerly known as HOWLERS, ever since the project was first announced. Now we've gotten our hands on the film's release information, so we can make this EXCLUSIVE announcement: HIGH MOON is getting a VOD/Digital release on May 14th, courtesy of Distribution Solutions / Alliance Entertainment and Archstone Distribution.
I've been desperately wanting to see this movie ever since I first heard it was going to exist, so it's great to know we only have two more months to wait for it.
Described as "BLADE from the old west" and inspired by "the classic ‘80s / ‘90s camp creature features from John Carpenter and Fred Dekker", HIGH MOON has the following synopsis:
Colt (Chad Michael Collins) – a gunslinging werewolf slayer from the old west – mysteriously rises from the grave, only to find that the band of werewolves that brutally murdered his wife are still running rampant generations later. Aided by a beautiful widow (Chelsea Edmundson), a skeptical town sheriff (Matthew Thompkins) and a corrupt Mayor (Sean Patrick Flanery), Colt must face off with the bloodthirsty creatures once again to save a sleepy southern town from destruction.
Given that Colt is a gunslinging cowboy, I really like the new title HIGH MOON, which is a nod to one of the all-time great Westerns, HIGH NOON. That seems very fitting.
In addition to the cast members mentioned in the synopsis, the film also features Tom Zembrod as the main villain.
The film was produced by Rishi Chitkara, Josh Ridgway, and Chad Law. Executive Producers include Larry LeMaster, Heath Calhoun, and Greg Fussell. Lead actor Chad Michael Collins is also an Associate Producer.
The trailer for HIGH MOON can be seen below. Check it out, then get ready for the movie to hit VOD on May 14th.
Beyond this VOD release, HIGH MOON will also be released on DVD on July 2nd.
