If you like to supplement your healthy horror diet with some creepy documentary, then we’ve got something right up your alley. Bart Layton’s THE IMPOSTER was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and we’ve scored an exclusive clip from the film. It’s a little creepy as it sets up the initial disappearance of Nicholas Barclay in 1994, only to pave the way for Frederic Bourdin to become “The Imposter.” Check it out below.
In 1994 a 13-year-old boy disappears without a trace from his home in San Antonio, Texas. Three and a half years later he is found alive thousands of miles away in Spain with a shocking story of kidnap and torture. His family is overjoyed to bring him home, but all is not quite what it seems. He bears many of the same marks but why does he have a strange accent? Why does he look so different? And why doesn’t the family seem to notice these glaring inconsistencies? It’s only when an investigator starts asking questionsthat this astonishing true story takes an even stranger turn…
THE IMPOSTER will premiere in the US on July 13th, 2012. For more info, you can check out the film’s Facebook page right HERE.
