Thor Freudenthal is new to the world of PERCY JACKSON, yet with SEA OF MONSTERS it seems he has plans to bring the latest film closer to the books than the first. The director, known for DIARY OF A WIMPY KID is already familiar with working with young actors, so will he be able to create the magical world on which the film is based come alive?
Sitting down with the director, I was impressed with his knowledge and passion for the project. He definitely appeared to have a firm grasp on the new film and is looking forward to audiences experiencing the finished project. When I interviewed Thor a couple months back, we had only seen about thirty-five minutes of the movie. Yet it seems like they have put together a film that will most assuredly surpass the original with its sense of adventure and fun. PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS opens this Wednesday at a theatre near you.
