Exclusive 1:1 Interview: Out of the Furnace Director Scott Cooper and Star Woody Harrelson!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Over the past few years Woody Harrelson has become one of my favorite guys to sit down and chat with. In his latest feature OUT OF THE FURNACE, he plays a vicious character and he does so perfectly. Of course Woody is a fantastic actor, but Scott Cooper (CRAZY HEART) is an incredible filmmaker as well with a very unique voice. With this film he challenges expectations and makes for very personal cinematic journey.

Sitting down with the two talented fellas, we discussed the extremely effective opening sequence and the surprising film it pays homage to. I was very impressed with Cooper who opened my eyes up to many aspects of the film and his influences as a filmmaker. It was also nice to overhear Mr. Harrelson giving me a bit of a compliment after I had left the room… Man I f*cking dig that guy! However, a word of caution and a SPOILER WARNING, during the interview we do vaguely discuss the end of the film which impressed me greatly. OUT OF THE FURNACE opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
