Exclusive 1:1 Interview: Nightcrawler Star Jake Gyllenhaal!

Over the past few years Jake Gyllenhaal has become one of the most exciting actors working today. His work in ENEMY, PRISONERS and END OF WATCH is terrific, as he continues to challenge himself and take on meatier roles. His latest only further proves what a fascinating talent he is. In NIGHTCRAWLER, he portrays Louis Bloom, a strange fellow who discovers he has a knack for videotaping horrific events which leads to a successful career as a freelance crime journalist. I loved the movie! One of the best of the year, a really savvy flick that sticks with you, this includes Gyllenhaal’s fearless performance.

It had been a long time since I’ve had the opportunity to chat with this incredible actor, but it is always amazing as he is definitely one of the nicest guys around. We started the chat with what it is exactly that he felt made this character tick. He discussed the approach and whether or not there were concerns that audiences would have issues with his morally questionable choices. It is refreshing to see Mr. Gyllenhaal continue to tackle unique roles such as this. Out of all the horror flicks currently playing, if you want a real creepy Halloween movie going experience, you should check out NIGHTCRAWLER when it opens this Friday.
