Romantic comedies aren't always my thing. But when they happen to star Simon Pegg and Lake Bell, that's an entirely different story. In MAN UP, the latest feature from director Ben Palmer – with a smart script from Tess Morris – you have something very special. Not surprisingly, both Bell and Pegg are incredible together. It is a sweet and honest portrait of the cruel dating world. It is an inspired comedy that will appeal to many a moviegoer and not just fans of this particular genre.
Recently, we sat down for an extended chat with the absolutely lovely and insanely talented Lake Bell. The actress has had a very impressive year, giving terrific performances in this as well as NO ESCAPE and the Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. During our conversation we talked about her latest, and what makes it different from your average romcom. We went on to talk about how IN A WORLD… changed her career, and about dancing to "The Reflex" by Duran Duran with Mr. Pegg. It is always a pleasure to chat with this incredible talent. MAN UP opens in limited release this Friday. This is one worth searching for.
