Everyone knows that remakes are a tricky business in Hollywood, especially when looking to place a new spin on a film as beloved as PET SEMETARY. Back in 1989, the Mary Lambert-directed original film delighted fans of Stephen King's classic novel, and introduced horror cinephiles worldwide to a bone-chilling premise that had many believing in the film's tagline that "Sometimes, dead is better."
Today, we've got an exclusive video that highlights 10 things you might have missed when watching the trailer for the upcoming PET SEMETARY remake. Directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, the newest film version of King's best-selling novel tells the tale of Louis Creed, his wife Rachel, and their two children Gage and Ellie, as they move to a rural home where they are welcomed and enlightened about the eerie 'Pet Sematary' located near their home. After the tragedy of their cat being killed by a truck, Louis resorts to burying it in the mysterious pet cemetery, which is definitely not as it seems, as it proves to the Creeds that death is not always the end.
As the video plays on, we count down some of the coolest and most interesting bits from the trailer that you might have missed, be it comparisons to the first film in the series, the original novel and more. Check it out, and don't forget to leave us a comment if you think that've missed something.
PET SEMETARY, starring Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow will look to scare the bejesus out of moviegoers beginning on April 5, 2019.
