I’ve always been a fan
of writer Mike White. He’s written for TV’s “Freaks and
Geeks” and over the past few years, penned such films as ORANGE
COUNTY, NACHO LIBRE, THE SCHOOL OF ROCK, THE GOOD GIRL, amongst
others. On April 13th, Paramount Vantage will be releasing YEAR
OF THE DOG, White’s directorial debut, starring ex-SNL’er Molly
Shannon, as well as the great John C. Reilly, Laura Dern, Peter
Sarsgaard, Regina King and a host of others. The film premiered at
this year’s Sundance Film Festival and today, we at JoBlo.com, exclusively
premiere the film’s official one-sheet (you can also check out its official site HERE). Here’s what the movie is
about: YEAR OF THE DOG is a dark comedy drama
that centers on Peggy (Shannon), a happy-go-lucky secretary who is a
great friend, employee, and sister who lives alone with her adorable
beagle, Pencil. But when Pencil unexpectedly dies, Peggy must embark
on a journey of personal transformation that is hilarious, poignant,
and heartbreaking.
