Only one person in Hollywood can claim to have worked extensively with Chucky, Freddy, Jason, and The Crypt Keeper: his name is KEVIN YAGHER (Part 1 of our interview above – scroll down for Part 2) and he's been making nightmares come to life for almost 40 years. Starting with helping create the deformed visage of Jason Voorhees at the end of FRIDAY THE 13th: THE FINAL CHAPTER, Yagher went on to craft Freddy's terrifying mug in NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2, 3, and 4; he brought Chucky to life in the first four CHILD'S PLAY flicks, and was integral in the creation and personality of that wisecracking corpse, the Cryptkeeper, during Tales from the Crypt's long run on HBO.
In addition to helping those creeps haunt our imaginations, Yagher has splattered the screen with gore and ghastliness in such notable films as STARSHIP TROOPERS, FACE/OFF, 976-EVIL, MAN'S BEST FRIEND and SLEEPY HOLLOW (which he also produced and wrote the story for). Most recently, he made the nastiest corpses you ever saw in the hit series Bones, working on the show for 12 years.
We had the opportunity to chat with Yagher (via Zoom) this week as he promotes his latest work in BILL AND TED FACE THE MUSIC (WATCH IT HERE), a most excellent wrap-up to the Bill and Ted trilogy (for now it's only a trilogy). Yagher worked on the previous two Bill and Ted movies, but this one features some of his most impressive work yet: at least three different looks for the dudes that are really eye-popping. You'll see some of that in the video below, during which we talk about Kevin's return to the franchise, the creation of those incredible prosthetics, and everything else B&T-related.
And lest you think this is all Kevin and I talk about, just wait until tomorrow, where Kevin takes us on a small tour of his office and shows us some very cool stuff from a few of the movies he's worked on. You won't want to miss it!
BILL AND TED FACE THE MUSIC is currently out on VOD and can be watched HERE!
