Ewan McGregor has been questioned in just about every interview he did over the past decade about whether or not he’d return as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Well, as we know, he will soon be reprising the role of the Jedi Master for the upcoming Disney+ series, but as we can never get enough, that question has now transformed into whether or not he’d return again.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been billed as a limited, six-episode show, but Ewan McGregor told Total Film that he’d be happy to come back for another series.
If we were to get an opportunity to do it again, I’d be totally up for that. Here I go again. It’s like me knocking at Disney’s door again!
Although we still don’t know the extent of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, I can’t imagine any of us would complain about one more adventure with Ewan McGregor. The actor said that “It was nice to come back and to bridge that gap between me and Alec Guinness” for the series, adding that he “got as much, or more, out of playing him this time than I did in the first three movies put together. That’s to do with the writing, and the people we were making the series with, and the technology, and how different everything is.“
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The first two episodes of the series will debut on Disney+ on May 27, 2022. Would you like to see Ewan McGregor return as Obi-Wan Kenobi following the Disney+ series? Or do you think it will give him the perfect exit?
