Drake Doremus’s (LIKE CRAZY) ZOE uses science-fiction elements to tell a low-key, dramatic love story about a world where people put their romantic relationships at the mercy of technology. Ewan McGregor and Lea Seydoux play two scientists who develop an algorithm that determines a couple’s compatibility, only to follow that up with artificial intelligence (Theo James) designed to be a perfect emotional match for anyone. The new trailer for the movie shows their own relationship succumbing to that technology, and they must decide if they will let machines determine if they are meant to love each other or not. Can we all decide right now to stop relationship tech at Tinder and not take it any further?
The movie premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April and will be made available for streaming by Amazon's Prime Video on July 20.
