Evil Dead: The Game trailer: Bruce Campbell returns to the role of Ash!

Bruce Campbell has formally retired from playing the role of Evil Dead franchise hero Ash Williams – but only in the realm of film and television. He is still open to voicing the character for video games, as evident in the newly released trailer for Evil Dead: The Game! Check it out in the embed above.

Evil Dead: The Game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC sometime in 2021.

The game looks awesome, and what's especially cool about it is that players will have to chance to play not only as Ash, but other characters from the franchise as well. In the trailer, we see Scott from the original The Evil Dead, Lord Arthur from Army of Darkness, and Kelly from the Ash vs. Evil Dead TV series.

This co-op and PvP multiplayer game will allow fans to

work together as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, crafting, managing your fear, and finding key artifacts to seal the breach between worlds. Or take control of the powerful Kandarian Demon to hunt Ash and his friends while possessing Deadites, the environment, and even the survivors themselves as you seek to swallow their souls!

Plenty of surprises await in this gore-filled battle against evil that captures the characters, horror, humor, and action from the franchise. Battle across memorable locations including the infamous cabin in the woods, brought to life with tons of terrifying visuals and all-new dialogue from Bruce Campbell. Discover more than 25 weapons, including Ash’s Gauntlet, Boomstick, and chainsaw, and advance in a variety of skill trees to grow stronger and survive in this fun co-op and PvP experience.

Campbell had this to say about the game:

I’m excited to be strapping on the chainsaw one more time. Boss Team and Saber Interactive are planning a huge immersive dealio, and I knew I had to come back. You’ll be able to step into my shoes and kick some Deadite ass!"

Evil Dead: The Game is the result of a collaboration between Saber Interactive, Boss Team Games, Renaissance Pictures, STUDIOCANAL, MGM, and Lionsgate.
