Fox is doing their best to make sure that everything is awesome this Wednesday afternoon by announcing that Will Arnett has been selected to host LEGO MASTERS, a new LEGO-building competition series!
Based on the smashing British reality-competition series of the same name, LEGO MASTERS will feature pairs of Lego aficionados facing off for a variety of build-a-brick challenges. As the master builders work toward crafting Lego-brand creations that boggle the mind, Arnette, alongside a panel of expert judges, will cheers the contestants on, and introduce new challenges that will test the imaginations and skill of their participants. The newly-announced Lego project hails from Endemol Shine North America, Tuesday’s Child and Brad Pitt’s Plan B production studio.
Arnett is a natural fit for the LEGO MASTERS gig, of course, seeing as he's provided the voice for Lego Batman courtesy of THE LEGO MOVIE franchise. Not only that, but I hear that Arnett has become something of a Lego enthusiast himself, since becoming an integral part of the build-a-brick family.
“This show is an hour of fun for the whole family and Will is the ideal host. He’s already a member of the Lego family and his passion for this show is infectious,” said Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment and Specials, Fox Entertainment. “He’s also a great collaborator and, let’s be honest, he’s hilarious – which makes him perfect for this competition.”
Oh wow! I've been a Lego fan for as long as I can remember. In fact, my nerd room is littered with builds from Lego's Star Wars, Ninjago, and Harry Potter lines. In fact, I've got the deluxe Hogwarts set still in the package and ready to be built this coming January. Actually, now that I've given it some thought, we're going to have to re-arrange some furniture for that one, and will likely have to build it in shifts. I must say that I'm rather intrigued by this new show, and I look forward to checking it out when LEGO MASTERS premieres on Wednesday, February 5 at 9 PM premiere on Fox.
