F*ck having only 140 characters! Evan Rachel Wood decided her anger with the MPAA over some changes to her film CHARLIE COUNTRYMAN could not be conveyed in a single tweet. So, she instead launched a multi-tweet offensive explaining her distaste with the changes.
Wood is not the first to be angered over MPAA guidelines for rating films. In fact, there have been numerous cases in just the last few months that have shown issues with the way ratings are doled out by the organization. The Weinstein Company launched a campaign to get PHILOMENA changed from an R to a PG-13 over profanity in the film while others cite the overwhelming amount of violence in PG-13 movies as evidence that the ratings are outdated.

CHARLIE COUNTRYMAN may not exactly be an Oscar contender, but it is a film that was already set for more success on home video than in theaters. That being said, with the film already given the Restricted rating due to “some brutal violence, language throughout, sexuality/nudity and drug use,” what does a sex scene do to throw it over the top?
I agree that ratings serve a valid point in society, but the MPAA ratings are so arbitrarily assigned, and obviously heavily influenced by Hollywood studios, that it is almost impossible to take them seriously. A
