I would watch Eva Green in, well, just about anything, and it seems that she may have a place in one of Disney's many upcoming live-action adaptations of their animated classics. Deadline reports that Eva Green is currently in talks to join the cast of DUMBO, which is to be directed by Tim Burton.
This shouldn't really come as a big surprise as Tim Burton tends to stick with actors he enjoys working with, and Green has had prominent roles in both DARK SHADOWS and MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN. It's not yet known who Green would be playing should the deal for DUMBO close, but Deadline says that she's being eyed for one of the three main adult roles in the film.
Production on DUMBO is said to be getting close, but it seems that they're still a long ways off from locking down a cast. Will Smith had been circling a role in the film, but he later backed out due to several issues, including salary and scheduling. Around the same time that Smith was interested in the project, it was also reported that the role of the villain had been offered to Tom Hanks, but that he may choose to pursue THE GREY HOUND, a WWII drama in which Hanks would play a "career officer given command of a Navy destroyer — named “Greyhound” — who has to deal with combat enemies and his own self doubts," instead. Variety also adds that Chris Pine (STAR TREK BEYOND) recently passed on a lead role in DUMBO as well.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Disney's latest live-action adaptation, is set to hit theaters on March 17th.
