Early box office predictions for Eternals have Marvel’s next feature looking like the biggest earner of the studio’s Phase 4 rollout yet. That’s right, True Believers, Eternals could end up making more money than Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The box office has had a tough go ever since the COVID-19 pandemic kicked into top gear, but audiences are returning to theaters little by little. Sure, it will take some time to get back to the way things were in 2019, but the light at the end of the tunnel looks bright, and its radius is expanding with every major release.
One of the reasons why early box office predictions for Eternals look so promising is because the film introduces Marvel fans to a whole new cast of characters. This element of the film creates an air of mystery and welcomes casual MCU fans into the unknown.
Per Box Office Pro, early box office predictions for Eternals point toward an $82-102 million domestic opening weekend. Even if the film lands on the low end of those figures, it would still make more than Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which made $75.3 million in its first three days. As for Black Widow, Scarlett Johanson’s long-overdue solo feature banked $80.3 million in its first weekend. Advanced tickets for Eternals are on sale now.

Do you think you’ll be seeing Eternals in theaters? I know that I definitely will. Chloe Zhao is a hell of a director and everything I’ve seen for Eternals so far is telling me to get my ass to the cinema. Thankfully, theaters in my area have done an outstanding job at making me feel safe during my last two trips to the movies. I hope that trend continues as we roll into Halloween Kills, Dune, and Eternals.
