A couple weeks ago, we shared a clip from Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, director Adam Robitel's sequel to his 2019 horror-thriller Escape Room (watch it HERE), that brought the survivors of previous deadly escape room games together on a train. Now we've gotten our hands on an extended version of that clip that shows how the new film's deadly game gets started. Check it out in the embed above!
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions has already been out for a while in some countries, but it's set to reach theatres in the United States tomorrow, July 16th.
Scripted by Will Honley, Oren Uziel, Maria Melnik, and Daniel Tuch from a story by Honley, Christine Lavaf, and Fritz Bohm, the film follows
six people who find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive… and discovering they’ve all played the game before.
Taylor Russell and Logan Miller have come back from the first film and are joined in the cast by Indya Moore, Holland Roden, Isabelle Fuhrman, Carlito Olivero, Thomas Cocquerel, and James Frain.
This sequel was produced by Neal H. Moritz. Robitel served as executive producer alongside Karina Rahardja and Philip Waley.
I didn't have any interest in the first Escape Room when it was announced, but when I got around to watching it I was surprised to find that I enjoyed it. It doesn't sound like I should have very high expectations for this one, though. Our own Eric Walkuski had the chance to watch Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, and was not a fan of it.
