Director Adam Robitel's sequel to his 2019 horror-thriller Escape Room (watch it HERE) was originally supposed to reach theatres on April 17, 2020. After being bounced all over the release schedule, it's now heading toward a July 16, 2021 release – and that means it's time for a trailer! The trailer for the sequel now known as Escape Room: Tournament of Champions can be seen above. A batch of images from the film have also been released online and can be seen below.
Scripted by Will Honley, Oren Uziel, Maria Melnik, and Daniel Tuch from a story by Honley, Christine Lavaf, and Fritz Bohm, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions follows
six people who find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive… and discovering they’ve all played the game before.
Taylor Russell and Logan Miller reprise their roles from the first film and are joined in the cast by Indya Moore, Holland Roden, Isabelle Fuhrman, Carlito Olivero, Thomas Cocquerel, and James Frain.
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions was produced by Neal H. Moritz. Robitel served as executive producer alongside Karina Rahardja and Philip Waley.
I enjoyed the first Escape Room more than I expected to, so I'll be watching this sequel.
