Sony and THE TAKING OF DEBORAH LOGAN and INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY director Adam Robitel's ESCAPE ROOM 2 was originally set to be unleashed this April. But then it moved to August. And now we hear that the film will finally enter a theater near you this December.
This is a smart move considering its August release date put it into direct competition with James Wan's new horror movie MALIGNANT.
The original film followed
Six strangers who think they have gathered for a highly immersive escape room, but they soon make the sickening discovery that they are pawns in a sadistic game of life and death. Together, they move from one terrifying scenario to the next as they find clues and solve puzzles. But the players soon learn that exposing their darkest secrets may hold the key to surviving.
Original ESCAPE ROOM stars Taylor Russell and Logan Miller return for this sequel along with Holland Roden (TEEN WOLF, CHANNEL ZERO: BUTCHER’S BLOCK), Indya Moore (POSE, QUEEN & SLIM), Thomas Cocquerel (TABLE 19, THE 100), Carlito Olivero (EAST LOS HIGH, STEP UP: HIGH WATER), and Isabelle Fuhrman (ORPHAN, DOWN A DARK HALL). ESCAPE ROOM 2 hits on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.
