Yesterday we got a first look at Guy Ritchie's THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., and Variety has casting news on the director's next movie, KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR.
The site has learned Eric Bana will play Uther, King Arthur's father, in the upcoming film. Bana will star alongside Charlie Hunnam as the famous British leader and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Guinevere. Variety also says Jude Law is still in negotiations to play the movie's villain, however there's no word on if Djimon Hounsou is still in the running to play Arthur's mentor.
KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR will be the first of six planned Arthur films, and although it will reportedly feature fantasy elements, there aren't any other details about the project. My hope is the movie will be have a darker tone than Guy Ritchie's SHERLOCK HOLMES films, but since there isn't a ton of into on it, it's hard to get a gauge on what Ritchie's plans are for his King Arthur flick. What's your level of excitement for KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR?
KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2016.
