Epic trailer revealed for Netflix’s Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

Jim Henson’s THE DARK CRYSTAL follow-up THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE featuring the voice-work of Anya Taylor-Joy and Taron Egerton is heading to Netflix on Friday, August 30th and today we have the movie's epic poster to share with you guys. There will be ten episodes and the series will explore the world of Thra created for the original movie. Written by Jeffrey Addiss, Will Matthews, and Javier Grillo-Marxuach with Louis Leterrier serving as director. Here's the plot:

Based on The Dark Crystal, Jim Henson’s groundbreaking 1982 feature film, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance tells a new epic story, set many years before the events of the movie, and realized using classic puppetry with cutting edge visual effects. The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.

The killer cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy (GLASS), Taron Egerton (KINGSMAN), and Nathalie Emmanuel (GAME OF THRONES) voicing the three main characters, Rian, Brea, and Deet, and the Gelflings with be voiced by the likes of Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Helena Bonham-Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Caitriona Balfe, Harris Dickinson, Shazad Latif, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Meanwhile, the horrific and nightmare-inducing Skeksis & Mystics will be voiced by such heavy-hitters as Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Ralph Ineson, Harvey Fierstein, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Mark Hamill.
