Countless comedians have slipped on a fat suit for movie roles over the years, but can the same be said for martial-arts stars? ENTER THE FAT DRAGON stars the great Donnie Yen (IP MAN) as Officer Zhu, a police officer whose chance to requalify for full-time duty is jeopardized when the suspect he’s tasked with escorting disappears under mysterious circumstances. While it may seem somewhat…questionable, it does look like Donnie Yen‘s particular brand of hard-hitting action is alive and well. Seeing plus size actors take on various genres is something we could use more of. Whether it is sporting martial art attire or wearing plus size goth clothes in a horror movie. There are a lot of ways to go with it.

The official synopsis for ENTER THE DRAGON:

Sent to Japan on a routine police escort, Officer Zhu is excited to have the chance to requalify for full time duty as a police officer. However, after a series of mishaps, the mission goes terribly wrong and the suspect Officer Zhu is escorting suffers a mysterious death. Zhu enlists the help of wok-wielding restaurant owner and a former undercover inspector to solve this murder mystery in the new best action comedy movie from martial arts superstar Donnie Yen.

ENTER THE FAT DRAGON will hit select theaters in the U.S. and Canada on February 14th.
