Enter The Dead Room in theatres and on demand April 8th

Last October, director Jason Stutter's film THE DEAD ROOM was released in its native New Zealand with the Rumble Acoustic Science and Infrasound experience, which aims to create heightened stress and tension in audience members through the use of low frequency waves. Viewers in North America may not get to see it with that special presentation, but at least we'll be getting the chance to watch the film itself when IFC Midnight releases it into select theatres and on demand, iTunes, Amazon, X-Box, Google Play, and Playstation on April 8th.

Synopsis:

Step inside the Dead Room, where something sinister guards a home’s horrifying secrets. Inspired by a 1970s urban legend, this atmospheric nerve-shredder follows two scientists (Jeffrey Thomas & Jed Brophy) and a young psychic (Laura Petersen) as they travel to the countryside to investigate mysterious goings-on at a remote farmhouse. Skepticism quickly turns to terror, as the researchers’ presence unsettles a seriously angry demonic presence possessing the home. Upping the haunted house movie ante with visceral camerawork and unsettling sound design, THE DEAD ROOM creates a sense of palpable danger lurking in every corner and hallway.

The trailer released in the build-up to the New Zealand release made the film look quite intriguing to me, so I'm looking forward to checking this one out.

I am very curious to know what that Rumble audio experience is like, though.
