Yesterday we saw some awesome new BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE pics from the upcoming issue of Empire, and the publication has unveiled the covers for the issue, providing us with new looks at Henry Cavill's Son of Krypton and Ben Affleck's Bat of Gotham. The subscriber-only, Jim Lee-illustrated cover has also been released, featuring the Dark Knight taking on the Man of Steel.
In an interview with the magazine, producer Charles Roven also shared some insight on Affleck's take on the caped crusader.
[Batman] is not giving people a chance. He is more than a vigilante. He has become not only the cop, if you will, he has also become the jury and executioner. He’s older, [and] he’s seen the worst of what man can do. He’s been darkened by it, he’s tougher, he’s angrier, I guess. He’s still lost those that are near and dear to him, and not necessarily from old age or disease.
Some believe Roven's comment about Batman being an executioner seem to suggest that this version of the character will have no problem killing lawbreakers, but I think he just means Bats won't have any reservations about inflicting serious pain on criminals. What are your thoughts on Affleck's tougher and angrier Batman?
BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is due out on March 25, 2016.
