Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 & 4) are back in the genre, this time tackling a YA adaptation that actually looks pretty intriguing: NERVE, starring permateens Emma Roberts and Dave Franco.
The film has now debuted its official trailer, and it looks like a cross between THE GAME and dystopian teen fare like your HUNGER GAMES and your MAZE RUNNERS, only slightly more edgy. It could be decent, and the searing neon of the trailer is an undoubtedly gorgeous, BLADE RUNNER meets Winding Refn touch. Check it out below!
A high school senior finds herself immersed in an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of "watchers."
NERVE also stars Juliette Lewis, Jonny Beauchamp (Penny Dreadful), and Samira Wiley (Orange is the New Black). The script was written by Jessica Sharzer (American Horror Story). NERVE will strike the US and the UK on July 27th.
