Emily Blunt in talks to star in Not Fade Away adaptation at Annapurna

With Disney's JUNGLE CRUISE now in post-production, and pre-production for A QUIET PLACE 2 just starting to make some noise, it should come as no surprise that MARY POPPINS RETURNS star Emily Blunt is in the process of setting up even more projects for her already busy dance card. Earlier this morning, we'd learned via Deadline that the SICARIO alumna is in talks to star in NOT FADE AWAY at Annapruna Pictures.

Set to be produced by David O. Russell and John Krasinski (Blunt's partner both on and off screen), the project is based on a 2015 memoir titled Not Fade Away: A Memoir of Senses Lost and Found by Rebecca Alexander. The book tells of Alexander's experience of being born with a rare genetic mutation that caused her to lose her sight and hearing over time. As part of her inspiring journey, Alexander beat the odds and expectations of her prognosis.

The memoir is being adapted Lindsey Ferrentino, though the project has yet to find a director. Oh, and before you suggest that Krasinski take on the role, you should know that he's currently hard at work writing and directing A QUIET PLACE 2, the sequel to his 2018 surprise smash. Furthermore, it doesn't sound as if Russell is in the running either, as he's currently prepping an untitled television project.

Either way, NOT FADE AWAY sounds as if it could be a plum role for Blunt, who excels at delivering powerful performances regardless of a project's genre. I'll personally be looking forward to her part as Rebecca Alexander, who sounds as if she's lead a remarkable life and then some.
