Emilia Clarke set to join Alden Ehrenreich in the Star Wars Han Solo spinoff

With production on the UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM expected to kick off in January, we've started to see the rest of the major roles in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff ticked off. Much like the lengthy process which proceeded the casting of Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, the search for the female lead has been just as arduous, but that role has now been filled as Disney has just announced that Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) has been tapped to star alongside them in the Star Wars spinoff.

Many actresses had been tested for the "mystery female character," including Tessa Thompson (CREED), Zoe Kravitz (MAD MAX: FURY ROAD) and Naomi Scott (POWER RANGERS), and it was said that directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were going to be taking their time with making a final selection as they were having difficulties making a choice. Outside of Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke hasn't exactly won me over, but for the most part these new Star Wars movies have been knocking it out of the park in regards to casting, so I'm more than happy to give her the benefit of the doubt. What are your thoughts on Emilia Clarke joining the Han Solo spinoff and which character do you think she'll be playing?

The UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM is set for a May 25, 2018 release.
