The battle of the billionaires is heating up, with Elon Musk declaring that he is ready to livestream the proposed bout against Mark Zuckerberg live on X (which, admittedly, most of us are still referring to as Twitter).
In a Twitter (no, wait, X) post over the weekend, Elon Musk declared, “Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on ?. All proceeds will go to charity for veterans.” This is undoubtedly a noble cause, but Mark Zuckerberg didn’t waste much time in offering a rebuttal, writing in an Instagram story, “Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?” Them’s fightin’ words, Mark!
Elon Musk also tweeted / posted that he was gearing up for the cage match against his social media nemesis, writing, “Am lifting weights throughout the day, preparing for the fight. Don’t have time to work out, so I just bring them to work”, to which Mark Zuckerberg replied, “I’m ready today. I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he wasn’t confirmed.” He added that he’s not too confident that match will ever take place, saying, “Not holding my breath.” Musk remained in good spirits for the most part and even offered a prediction, saying, “If the fight is short, I probably win. If long, he may win on endurance. I am much bigger and there is a reason MMA has weight divisions.”
News of a potential showdown between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg came back in June, with the former saying he’d be game for a cage match if the Facebook founder accepted. It has been a bit of a stalemate up to this point, but considering Meta’s Threads has proven to be a flop – perhaps in line with Musk’s neighbor-blinding giant X on top of the San Francisco headquarters – this might be a good time for Zuckerberg to get some revenge. And what better place to do it than in a cage?!
As of publication, Elon Musk is worth a reported $232.5 billion, while Zuckerberg has around $110 billion to his name, which is still pretty good considering his social media platform (no, not that one) is now just ads and your uncle posting heinous memes. With that sort of dough at disposal, the two could just officially call the fight off and just donate money to charity.
