Thirty years ago, Mark Patton starred in the poorly received sequel A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY'S REVENGE. While the film has been re-assessed and developed a solid fan base over the ensuing decades, Patton largely disappeared from the acting scene after thwarting Freddy Krueger with the power of love. He has recently stepped back into public view with convention appearances and documentary interviews, and is even the focus of the upcoming documentary SCREAM, QUEEN: MY NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.
Now Patton has booked a new acting gig, signing on to play a role in DOLLFACE director Tommy Faircloth's new film FAMILY POSSESSIONS, a paranormal slasher that centers on
a young girl named Rachael that inherits her Grandmother's mansion. Rachael and her family relocate across the country to move into the house, as the father recently lost his job and fell on hard financial times. Once in this new town and this new house, Rachael begins having paranormal experiences in the house and later finds out a big secret that her mother and father were keeping from her and her younger brother.
Patton joins a cast that includes Leah Wiseman, Jason Vail, Suzie Haines, Lizzie Mears, Morgan Monnig, Michael Alig, Erika Edwards, Michael David Wilson, Robert Haulbrook, Andrew Wicklum, and a fellow star of '80s horror, SLEEPAWAY CAMP's Felissa Rose.
It's great to see Patton getting back into the horror business, and this sounds like the perfect project for him to make his return in.
