When you have an entire family tree of sisters that all look similar in appearance, it gives you a few options to consider when one of them turns down your advances.
At least that was the thinking going on over at the FULL HOUSE revivial for Netflix, FULLER HOUSE, when they reached out to Elizabeth Olsen to possibly fill in for her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley in the role of Michelle after they both turned it down.
Appearing on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, John Stamos revealed they sent out a feeler or two to see if they might be able to pull something like that off, only to be rebuffed.
We actually went to…I don’t think this has been talked about. I didn’t do it, I think Jeff Franklin did. I said, ‘Call the sister. Ask her.’ We talked to her agent and her agent was like, ‘Come on, she’s not going to do that.’ But we did call her agent.
Would it have been a coup for the sitcom to land the younger Olsen, who is in the midst of a solid run in Hollywood currently? Of course. Was it realistic to think anything might have happened? Hey… In this business, you never know until you ask.
FULLER HOUSE debuts on Netflix on February 26.
