Last week, Elizabeth Olsen revealed why she thinks CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR will be the best Marvel movie to date, and during a conversation with MTV News, the actress talked about where Scarlet Witch's head is at following the events from AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, while bringing up the fact that her character wasn't featured on the promo art from a few weeks ago.
She’s OK. She’s doing alright. She’s confused, she’s conflicted. She’s found some people she thinks she connects with, but she’s doing alright. They released images of Team Cap and Team Iron Man. She wasn’t there. She’s always the wild card. I like being the wild card.
There are many who think Scarlet Witch will be involved with the incident that drives a wedge between the Avengers team, and although she could be referring to that with her "wild card" comment, I think it's more likely that she'll just end up switching teams. Olsen also says she's learning some new hand tricks from Jennifer White, her movement coach.
It’s not a new hand technique per say. We’re trying to grow her movement as a whole… Jenny and I have great pride in trying to make this a huge transformation — the next time we see her — of her abilities.
Scarlet Witch's powers weren't really defined that well in AGE OF ULTRON, so I'm very curious to see how she will be used in CIVIL WAR. I'm also hopeful that she'll use her reality-warping abilities in a future Marvel film, which could potentially have a huge impact on the MCU.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
