Crypt TV, the social media-based horror production studio backed by Jason Blum and Eli Roth is looking to expand. Mind you, it started off as a miniscule company producing short videos for online venues like Facebook and Snapchat so any expansion will still leave it quite small. The staff is increasing from four to seven, which doesn't seem like much, but it will be issuing in a new chapter for the company.

Crypt TV is looking to collaborate with production studios and on-demand platforms, increasing the run times of their short videos from less than three minutes to five to seven minutes, and revamping popular shorts like "Welcome to the Doll House," "Date Gone Wrong," and "Torture Games."

The company is still working on growing their viewership and increasing profits, potentially doing more viral marketing like their work promoting Blumhouse's THE VISIT.

Says Blum:

This isn’t some IP factory. What I was passionate about and what I was interested in discovering is what is scary on a telephone and how long does this content need to be in order to work?

So far Crypt TV's expansion is kind of innocuous and teen-focused, but if they're successful, it may usher in a new age of online horror content, for better or for worse.
