Elektra to return in Netflix’s Defenders series, apparently not a spoiler

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The Marvel Netflix shows seem to be knocking it out of the park. In fact, when LUKE CAGE first premiered, Netflix crashed from too many downloads. Suffice to say, people love them some Marvel. And from the very outset every Marvel Netflix show, from DAREDEVIL, to JESSICA JONES, to LUKE CAGE, to the as-of-yet unreleased IRON FIST, were all leading to the team up show THE DEFENDERS (a sort of street-level AVENGERS).

Which brings us back to the show that started it all, DAREDEVIL. In its second season, not only did it bring in fan favorite Punisher, but also his love-interest from the comics, the anti-hero assassin Elektra. While she (SPOILER!!!) met her untimely demise at the end of that season, the show is based on a comic-book, in which the only deaths that ever stay permanent are Bucky Barnes, Jason Todd, and Uncle Ben. And even then I wouldn't be surprised if a few years down the road we get a revelation that Uncle Ben is actually Mysterio or some shit.

Anyway, Netflix just revealed Elektra's return in DEFENDERS via a tweet (which seems like a spoiler, but what do I know?):

So what's everyone's thoughts on this? Did you guys like Élodie Yung's take on the character? And, if so, you excited at her inclusion in the new show? Sound off below!

DEFENDERS will defend on Netflix sometime next year.
