Sure, Shane Black's THE PREDATOR has gathered together an interesting cast to take on the galaxy's most fearsome hunter, but it was missing one very important element: Edward James Olmos. Thankfully, that slight misstep has been corrected as THR reports that Olmos has signed up to join the cast. We can all breath a sigh of relief now.
Most of the plot and character details surrounding THE PREDATOR are naturally being kept under wraps, but the outlet did say that Edward James Olmos would be playing a "military figure." Not a big surprise there, but it's always fun to see Olmos pop up. Production on THE PREDATOR got underway several weeks ago in Vancouver and the film stars Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Thomas Jane, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, Augusto Aguilera and Jake Busey.
Edward James Olmos has certainly been a busy fellow lately, in addition to joining the cast of Shane Black's THE PREDATOR, the actor will also be reprising his role of Gaff for Denis Villeneuve's BLADE RUNNER 2049 and has also signed on to star in Mayans MC, a Sons of Anarchy spin-off series which will see Olmos take on the role of Felipe Reyes, "the family's formerly strong patriarch who after years of being crushed by bullets and labor, struggles to keep his past buried and lead his own sons down a lawful and righteous path." The year of Olmos is upon us!
THE PREDATOR is set for a February 9, 2018 release.
