Doug Liman's EDGE OF TOMORROW was quite simply a bad-ass movie. Sporting Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, huge robot armor, Emily Blunt, killer aliens, and Emily Blunt, EDGE OF TOMORROW was a blast.
But it wasn't exactly a hit…
That said, it seems it was good enough as we now have news that the film's sequel is moving ahead and even has a new title! The film's new title comes to us from director Doug Liman who says the script has been finished.
EDGE OF TOMORROW 2 will be called LIVE DIE REPEAT AND REPEAT.
I'm not kidding. Doug Liman may be kidding, but I'm not. That's a terrible title and will no doubt change by the end of today (get it?) if not by the time the flick hits theaters.
Doug Liman on EDGE OF TOMORROW 2: REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT:
We have an amazing story! It’s incredible! Way better than the first film, and I obviously loved the first film. It will be called Live Die Repeat and Repeat. Tom [Cruise] is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it. The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when.”
Emily Blunt is coming back?!
WooHoo! I'm there. Keep all your repeating repeats and Tom Cruises and whatnot, just give me Emily Blunt in Full Metal Bitch-mode again and I'll be happy.
We'll let you know when we hear more on LIVE DIE REPE– Whatever, EDGE OF TOMORROW 2.
