Edgar Wright is the director of such films as SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ, THE WORLD'S END (pictured above), SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, and BABY DRIVER, as well as the DON'T faux trailer from GRINDHOUSE. With his latest project he will be bringing us a "straight-up psychological horror thriller" that's influenced by the likes of DON'T LOOK NOW and REPULSION.
Starring Anya Taylor-Joy, this horror thriller is titled LAST NIGHT IN SOHO, and Focus Features has just announced that they'll be giving the film a theatrical release in North America on September 25, 2020.
Written by Wright and Penny Dreadful's Krysty Wilson-Cairns, LAST NIGHT IN SOHO doesn't have an official synopsis at this time. All Wright has said about the story is that
I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I've spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years. With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you've lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in."
Taylor-Joy's co-stars include Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, and Rita Tushingham.
Wright produced the film with Nira Park and Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
There's still a thirteen month wait for this one, but I look forward to seeing it next year.
