Don’t be sad that BEVERLY HILLS COP will not be revived as a series. It seems that the adventures of Axel Foley are headed back to the big screen.
Paramount is moving forward rather quickly on what will be BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 with Eddie Murphy back on board. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCAL and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES) have been hired to write the script for the new installment.
The reason for bringing Foley back to the big screen HAD to do with the success of the pilot that was filmed for CBS. Apparently it tested quite well and Murphy nailed it once more as the title character. The buzz alone made the studio realize that they needed to make another film. Well, I mean, aside from the fact that the series wasn’t picked up despite the glowing reviews.
There are no details on the plot so we don’t know if it will be a father/son story, or one that continues to give the spotlight to Murphy.
Now all they need is a director. Who’s it going to be? I’ll be waiting for someone to say Brett Ratner.
