Production on Jake Kasdan's JUMANJI sequel recently got underway and we were also able to get our first glimpse at Jack Black as Professor Shelly Oberon, Kevin Hart as Moose Finbar, Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse and Dwayne Johnson as Dr. Smolder Bravestone. An interestingly costumed group to be sure, but not without controversy. The JUMANJI cast has continued to grow over the past few days which lead Johnson to turn to Instagram to officially welcome Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner and Ser'Darius Blain on-board.
Check out his welcome and scroll down further for something which could be considered a spoiler.
Here we go with spoiler time, although it's probably an element which will come to light with the release of the first JUMANJI synopsis or trailer. When THR reported the news of Alex Wolff's casting, they mentioned that he would play a boy named Spencer whose avatar in the game is played by Dwayne Johnson. This confirms a scoop by Jeff Sneider who said the film would follow four teens (Wolff, Iseman, Turner & Blain) who get sucked into the game where they take on new avatar forms played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan. This goes a long way toward explaining those costumes (and names) and is something several of you have already guessed.
JUMANJI is set for a July 28, 2017 release.
