Dwayne Johnson is about to kick the shit out of some demons in MGM's horror-action project SEAL TEAM 666. THR reports that Johnson has just been attached to the film and that he will also executive produce the feature along with Dany Garcia, as well as Brendan Deneen and Peter Joseph of Macmillan Films. While the title could use some work—being that it's cheesy as hell—the plot actually holds a lot of promise. The idea of Johnson battling demons who are hell bent on destroying the world sounds like it should be a pretty good time at the theater.
We don't know much about the film other than it's based on the book by Weston Ochse, and it follows an elite group of Navy Seals who battle demons and assorted threats and discover that there’s a greater supernatural force bent on destroying the world. Right now there's no word on who will be at the helm, but with Johnson's involvement it should attract some solid talent. Evan Spiliotopoulos, who penned MGM's upcoming Johnson-starring action adventure movie HERCULES, wrote the screenplay for the adaptation. Hiram Garcia, a former assistant to Johnson, will produce SEAL TEAM 666, which is in development.
