Dwayne Johnson reacts to the cop that has become his viral doppelgänger

They say that we all have a doppelgänger out there and it appears that the internet has found Dwayne Johnson’s. I honestly thought these photos were legit photoshopped but, as it turns out, there is a police officer from Alabama that is a dead ringer for Johnson and now the actor is reacting to the striking resemblance.

The police officer in question is Patrol Lieutenant Eric Fields of Alabama’s Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. Fields took the internet by storm when a picture of him truly shows that he has a similar build and look as the professional wrestler turned actor. You can check out a picture of Fields below!

Dwayne Johnson eventually caught wind of his Alabama twin and took to Twitter to share his thoughts. Johnson wrote in the tweet, “Oh sh*t! Wow. Guy on the left is way cooler. Stay safe brother and thank you for your service. One day we’ll drink @Teremana and I need to hear all your “Rock stories” because I KNOW you got ’em.” You can check out Johnson’s Twitter post below!

Eric Fields has also spoken out since going viral and the police officer says he’s just happy to see people smiling at his looks. While speaking with the local Alabama publication “AL“, he said he also doesn’t mind all the attention as long as people know he’s a real person. Fields had this to say about his recent attention for being Johnson’s twin:

“I’ve been called The Rock and Vin Diesel’s love child. I go along with it. It’s humorous. It’s flattering. It could be worse people, I guess. I don’t want to disappoint anybody. I walk up one day and at a different angle, I don’t know. It’s flattering, but it’s also a little nerve-racking as far as what others expect I guess… I just plan on being me. I’ll cut up. I’m a big cut-up. If it comes up and somebody says that, I’ll play along. I really couldn’t be anybody but me. I’m just glad I could be part of someone’s happiness and laughter.”

The resemblance picked up global recognition after a Facebook post from the MCSO showed a local man, Tyler, who had asked another law enforcement officer if he could meet the deputy “that people say looks like “The Rock.” 37-year-old Fields obliged the request. The Facebook post confirmed the meeting by stating, “Sgt. Mason passed that along and Lieutenant Fields was happy to swing by the Hartselle Wal-mart to see him. Tyler is one of their many hard workers and it was great to meet him and some of his coworkers!” Fields went on to say, “The blessing was really for me because he had a spirit that was just such a great person to meet. He’s the real celebrity. Everybody knew him and loved him. It was a blessing to me. I go trying to bless someone else, and I come out with the blessing of meeting him. I wish the actual Rock could meet this kid. He’s the hometown hero.”

Fields has worked for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office for 17 years including at the jail, in investigations, in the special victims unit, and with drug-endangered children before being sworn in as a Deputy U.S. Marshal. He was promoted to corporal and then worked from sergeant to lieutenant over patrol for which he handles tactical training and serves as a firearms instructor. Fields is also married and says his wife often buys him Dwayne Johnson paraphernalia for workouts.
