Dwayne Johnson is currently decked out in wigs, fake scars, and sandals for director Brett Ratner‘s HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS, but that doesn’t stop him from lining up future projects. Johnson is now in negotiations to join the big-screen adaptation of THE FALL GUY, based on the ABC TV series from the ’80’s. The actor would join director McG (CHARLIE’S ANGELS) to take on the titular role, which originally starred Lee Majors.
For those unaware, here’s the show description (from THR):
Fall Guy was an ABC series that ran from 1981 to 1986 and starred as Lee Majors as a Hollywood stunt man who supplemented his income by doing bounty hunter work. He was joined on his escapades, which usually involved him transferring a stunt from a movie to the job at hand, by his sidekick cousin (Douglas Barr) and a fetching female stunt actress played by Heather Thomas.
Johnson has been tearing it up of late, taking on both the G.I. JOE franchise, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise, and the JOURNEY Franchise, while fitting in smaller films in between, not to mention his reality competition show, and appearances in WWE. Somewhere in that schedule he finds time to stay in awesome shape. Seriously, if someone needs a role model…
THE FALL GUY is being shopped in Toronto during TIFF. More as this develops. Johnson will next be seen in HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS out on July 25, 2014.
