Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are teaming up this summer to bring a beloved Disney theme park ride to life with JUNGLE CRUISE. We already got an early look at the epic action-adventure tale with the first trailer that was released some time ago but now Disney is offering up another look with a brand new trailer and poster.
The film, which is an adaptation of the theme park ride of the same name which takes guests on a small 1930s riverboat down major rivers in Africa, Asia, and South America, is reimagined a bit for the big screen and is taking some of its inspiration from another Disney film based on a ride, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL. That film threw in dangers of the everyday and supernatural variety & it looks like JUNGLE CRUISE is following suit.
Helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra, JUNGLE CRUISE features Johnson as Frank, a riverboat captain who tricks his customers by taking them on tours full of fake threats. Things take a turn when Frank agrees to take British scientist Lily Houghton (Blunt) on a journey in search of a mystical tree said to exist somewhere in the jungle, Soonn the duo is battling a rival expedition as Frank realizes the legends of the jungle are very much real.
Double main event drops tomorrow..
Our NEW @JungleCruise TRAILER #2 & our NEW (actual) POSTER.
Gotta love ol’ Emily “yuk it up” Blunt making herself look cool, beautiful & heroic in her poster & making me look scared & constipated.
Good one, Em. You got one coming, kid ???????????????? pic.twitter.com/hT8G5Qy5Y0— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) March 9, 2020
Johnson and Blunt trolled each other yesterday by revealing JUNGLE CRUISE posters that comically favor one of them over the other. Johnson posted the clip of the dueling poster on his Twitter page which concluded by announcing the new trailer drop for today. If anything it shows the easy going chemistry between the pair is going to be a highlight of the film when it's released. The film also stars Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti, Edgar Ramirez & Jack Whitehall.
Do YOU like the new trailer? JUNGLE CRUISE hits screens on July 24, 2020. Check out the new poster below!
