Fantastic 4 (EE) June 5

One of my favorite lines from the movie THEY LIVE is when Roddy Piper has those glasses on and sees an alien putting on makeup and he says, “that’s like putting perfume on a pig.” Seems appropriate for this flick. This extended edition will be 20-minutes longer than the theatrical version and will include a “Custom Stan Lee Comic Book” with 2 all-new stories written exclusively for this DVD release. Sweetness.

The Fall Guy (S1) June 5

El Jefe aka JoBlo himself, and I were talking about how stoked we are that this is getting released. The theme song is tits. And speaking of, Heather Thomas was hot as hell in this and Scott Baio-Willie Ames vehicle, the 80s classic ZAPPED! There will be two volumes with all episodes spread out that you can buy seperately, or you can buy both as a set (all artwork below). The only extra is on Volume 2 and its called “The Unknown Stuntman: The Theme Song”. Bitchin’.

Coming to America/Trading Places (SE) June 5

Every time Samuel L. Jackson, as a robber, says, “who the f*ck is this asshole?!” in COMING TO AMERICA, I damn near piss myself. There’s so many good lines in this. And you could also see a young Cuba Gooding, Jr. in one of the barbershop scenes. AMERICA will be in anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 & 2.0 tracks with extras including featurettes “Prince-ipal Photography: The Coming Together of America,” “Fir For Akeem: The Costumes of Coming To America,” “Character Building: The Many Faces of Rick Baker,” and a vintage sit-down interview with Eddie and Arsenio, and trailers. Yes! Yes! F*ck you, too!

I was never a huge fan of TRADING PLACES, mostly because I’d watch it when I was a little chitlin and fall asleep right in the middle, every single time. So I don’t think I’ve even seen the whole movie through. Maybe. Extras include a deleted scene, a subtitled trivia track, the featurettes “Insider Trading: The Making of Trading Places,” “Trading Stories,” “Dressing the Part” and “The Trade in Trading Places,” and trailers.

Smokin’ Aces April 17

Here’s the final specs and artwork for SMOKIN’ ACES. I love the idea of Alicia Keys as a lesbian, hitwoman. Gawd, that is hot.

Notables

Rocky Balboa – So, Sly got busted for trying to smuggle in a little HGH. Someone should tell him that all it does is make your chin and noggin bigger. It won’t make you taller. 3/20

Blood Diamond (SE) – Is the “we’re all green” nonsense over yet? Doesn’t have anything to do with BLOOD DIAMOND, I’m just sayin’.3/20

The Dukes of Hazzard (The Beginning) – Wow. It’s so bad, the cover art is just a close of some girl’s boobs. Which is good. Still not watching it though. 3/20
